About kirigamine
Kirigamine is a gently-sloping plateau located in the heart of Yatsugatake-Chushin Kogen Quasi-National Park. It has multiple peaks, the highest of which is Mt. Kuruma (Kurumayama) at 1,925 meters. These highlands, formed through volcanic activity, are home to a variety of natural environments–from rolling grasslands and high moors to native trees–each with a wealth of native plant species notable for both their diversity and the size of their colonies.

Visitor center
The Kirigamine Nature Conservation Center is the prefectural visitor center located in Kirigamine. We introduce animals, plants, geological features, and the history of Kirigamine in displays and photo panels. Additionally, through video screenings and guided walks, you can deepen your understanding of the nature of Kirigamine

Floor Guide
| Exhibition room | Models, stuffed animals, tactile items, and more are displayed according to such themes as grassland , wetland, and Juso (native trees) for both children and adults can enjoy. |
| Video exhibit | This room can be used for screening a video about Kirigamine (15 min). |
| Counter | You can get information about the weather and flowering. Please ask our staff about walking routes. |
